This months 16 MP Camera – Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FH25

Overview: The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FH25 is perfect for sophisticated users who want feature-rich, but easy-to-use camera in a small and pleasant package. The FH25 is a follow-up model for the FH20 and carries similar, but with upgraded and numerous new features, including 16 megapixel CCD sensor, a Leica lens with 8x optical zoom, redesigned image processor, and much more. With it’s affordable price and enough power for serious or for an amateur user, the DMC-FH25 has excellent value in the much competitive compact with medium zoom digital camera market. Now, let’s get more specific about it’s technology.

28mm Wide-angle 8x Optical Zoom Leica DC Lens is a high quality, 28mm wide angle Leica lens, with 8x optical zoom in a slim case. The lens comprises nice separate elements in seven groups, meaning there are three aspherical lenses with a six aspherical surfaces transporting brilliant optical performance in an impressively slim body. The 28mm wide angle also makes taking pictures of large groups of people, spreaded out or extended landscapes or architecture an ease, with immense depth and clarity, even when taken from short distance.

Powerful 8x Optical Zoom / 10x Intelligent Zoom lens captures natural expressions from any distance, always sharp and precise. The Intelligent Zoom coupled with Intelligent Resolution technology helps to extend the Zoom 1.3 times without giving out any quality, making the zoom to an equivalent of 10x optical zoom, bringing the far-away objects even closer.

16 megapixel High-resolution CCD sensor means the pictures taken are crisp and clear even printed out at A2 format – big enough to display a persons head and chest in actual size, that means highest quality on a 127 x 89mm or 178 x 127mm print. You can also crop or trim the photos in any way you like, without losing any quality.

2.7-inch, 230,000-dot High-resolution LCD on the back is a high-resolution 230,000 dot Intelligent LCD display with High-angle feature making the display visible and picture undistorted at any angle.

Venus Engine makes the DMC-FH25 a real high-speed and high-performance camera, including higher signal processing, Intelligent Resolution technologies and also applying advanced noise reduction, helping to make images that have minimal or no noise even up to ISO1600 at full resolution(16MP). This simply means better quality images taken at night or in poorly lit rooms.

Sonic Speed AF have been improved with several enhancements, including optimized high-speed actuator and software processing. This leads to faster and to more accurate auto focus, specifically the FH25 features 42% quicker focusing than it’s predecessor, meaning it’s more precise when trying to focus on objects that are moving.

The NEW Intelligent Resolution is completely new image processing technology, it identifies three separate areas on the photo taken: the outlines, soft gradation and detailed texture. The image will be processed intelligently inside the camera, the pixel-by-pixel sharpness uniform is applied, along with precise image optimization, resulting in crisp images with vivid colors and defined edges.
You can also enjoy FH25′s 1280 x 720 HD Motion JPEG video recording capabilities, right in this very same slim package.

I’ve been needing a camera because the one that I had was getting really old. When I was looking for a nice slim and very portable digital cameras, I came across this model. It had a really low price and had many great reviews, so i bought it. What really suprises me, is the fact that it has 16 megapixels! Also the camera shipped really fast, think I got it in just 2 days! Tried it out and the images are very-very clear. You just need to buy your own SD card, or use the one from you’r old camera, but surely it’s an amazing camera offered for a cheap price.

I genuinely appreciate this camera. Let me begin by saying that I am really just a point and shoot sort of guy, I am NOT a expert photographer by any level. This camera is very simple to use, has long distance zoom, and takes quite sharp and clean-looking pictures.
It is also much less expensive compared to models from other companies allegedly on its level. Finally, it has an auto function that adjusts itself to whichever setting you’re in, to get the best possible photos it can; I keep it on this setting all the time and it works very well.
You can also record videos too. If you are seeking for a simple camera that takes quick and quality photos without a headache, this is for you.

Acquired this camera to use when I am not really in the “photographer” state of mind, i was looking for something light and simple to carry. Have been pleased enough to use more often than I had expected. Really, it’s very compact and the pictures and movies are much better than i was expecting. Even the battery charger is compact as the prongs flip in and there is no wire – it just plugs directly into the wall.
